The Chairman is a Taiwanese rock band. Founded in 1997, they named themselves Chairman in hope that Taiwanese people could one day direct their own destiny.
The Chairman was awarded the Best Band of the year in 2018 at the prestigious Golden Melody Awards. They have been dedicated to bringing Taiwanese traditional instruments into the rock music scene. As well as blending traditional elements of Temple or Taoist ritual into the performance. To coincide with their new album The Chairman will be performing alongside the famous drum troupe, Chio-Tian Folk Drums Arts Troupe.
董事長樂團從1997年出道，命名為董事長，是期許大家能當自己生命中的董事長，當自己的主人。董事長樂團近年來力求突破，研發出一種「新台式美學」，與臺灣的傳統故事與音樂結合，譜出許多相當有地方特色的搖滾音樂。
最新的專輯中，董事長樂團特別與九天民俗技藝團跨界合作，董事長的台式搖滾，加上九天非凡的鼓樂，融合陣頭、廟會、鼓陣和民俗信仰的元素，增添了錄音的難度，卻也為樂團的音樂帶來新的高度，因而獲得2018年金曲獎的最佳樂團獎。
此次表演董事長樂團不但將與九天民俗技藝團共同演出，還帶來兩位重量級唱將 – 嗓音獨特的客家金曲歌后官靈芝，以及台語唱將林柔均，增加表演的文化多元性以及豐富性，反映台灣文化價值，精彩可期。
